SEX. LOVE. REPEAT.

Genre: New Adult/Adult/ Erotica
Source: Netgalley (Always an honest review)
My Rating:  4.5 of 5 Stars

18627715I love two men. I screw two men. I am in a relationship with them both, and they are both aware there is another. That is all they need to know, that is all I let them know. They don’t need to know a name; they don’t need to know anything but that they are not alone in my heart.

They have accepted the situation. Stewart, because his life is too busy for the sort of obligations that are required in a relationship. Paul, because he loves me too much to tell me no. And because my sexual appetite is such that one man has trouble keeping up.

So we exist, two parallel relationships, each running their own course, with no need for intersection or conflict. It works for us, for them, and for me. I don’t expect it to be a long-term situation. I know there is an expiration date on the easy perfection of our lives.

I should have paid more attention, should have looked around and noticed the woman who watched it all. She sat in the background and waited, tried to figure me out. Saw my two relationships, the love between us, and the moment that it all fell apart.
She hates me.
I don’t even know she exists.
She loves them. I love them.
And they love me.

EVERYTHING else hangs in the balance.

I will definitely keep this review spoiler free. It’s going to be so vague but necessary. I was lucky enough to have started this book without any reviews yet posted on it. There are a bunch of them available now and they are spoiler-ish. To be honest the minimalist detail will spoil this read. I’m a firm believer that you will need to go into this with only the synopsis in mind and completely free of prejudices.

I went all in after reading the synopsis. It is probably the best synopsis I’ve read in a long time. It truly served its purpose. If you aren’t hooked or intrigued by it alone then I don’t even know what to tell you.

Remember how I said you should go in without prejudices… I meant it. I am not one to go for reads like this. I personally would not find myself in a relationship with two guys because I’m selfish like that. Yet, I still started this read cautiously reminding myself not to judge.  When I tell you I felt all voyeuristic, I’m not lying. I was not part of this story. I did not live vicariously through the protagonist. I just watched it all unfold. WHAT A TRIP!

The protagonist is who she is. She does not pretend to be something she is not. She does not make excuses for her behavior or how she lives her life. You take it or leave it. She is so true to herself throughout the entire story. She does not waiver not once. You can pretty much say the same about the men in her life. They are equally consistent and non apologetic about their situation.

So here is what you are going to get. You will get a story that is consistent, characters and world are well developed, there are twists and turns you never once expected or could have predicted and there will be SEX on almost every page.  LOTS OF SEX.

Just in case you were wondering, the sex wasn’t what kept me glued. To be honest I really didn’t much like the sex. I’m not a prude, I just felt it was always rushed and there was so much of it that it was hard to really appreciate. I do think all the sex is necessary to understand the mindset of the characters involved but it did nothing for me. However, what had me glued to every page was how easy and flawlessly things kept changing and moving. Those twists and turns, boy. (Shaking my head.) Those twists and turns were pretty great. The writing was that intriguing and seamless. I don’t think I’ve read a book like this ever. Not like this. AND here is the kicker… I think it was totally realistic. I totally think this is plausible. There are lives that people live that no one thinks is possible but I think nowadays anything is possible. You know what else? To each his own. If you can pull it off and all are in agreement, then you go with your bad self. Yup.

SEX. LOVE. REPEAT. is the first book I’ve read from this author but definitely not the last. It delivered on so many levels.

P.S. Reviewer Debra on Goodreads posted the perfect picture of the key players in this read and pretty much what was in my head. Her review is pretty awesome as well but I thought it was a bit spoiler-ish. Tread carefully but check out the picture if nothing else. ;-)
